General Business. Basic business education is becoming more of a necessity each year as con- sumer-retailer relations expand. The Art Class has iust completed a project in manuscript writing and illumination. The subiects were the Ave Maria and the Pater Noster which were mounted and framed. Solid Geometry. The introductory study leading up to solids deals with planes, perpendiculars and parallels to planes, dihedral angles and polyhedral angles. The first solid studied is the prism-a figure bounded by two parallel planes as bases and a prismatic surface. Clothing Class. Girls may come and girls may go-but styles go on forever as the Clothing class demonstrates. With graduation close at hand-graduation gowns are in order as well as simpler frocks for afternoon wear.

The Lettermen's Club is a group of young men who have earned their letters in Varsity competition. They aim to promote good sportsmanship on the play- ing field and among the student body. The Dramatic Arts Club produces several luncheon club shows and the class play each year, and writes and produces the annual Variety Show l'5l version called Town 'N Country. l Mr. Julian D. Scherer is director of the Dramatics. The Broadcaster Staff is responsible for the school paper which is issued seven times a year-the last issue being the Senior Memory Edition. The staff has been untiring in its efforts, and has been most generous in contributing time and energy to produce an inviting school paper. N. D. Ushers handle crowds at football and basketball games, and at plays, school dances, and church affairs.

Manual Training. Instruction is given in the care and use of common hand tools and the fundamentals of shaping, assembling, and finishing wood. The design of projects and the reading of blue prints are an important part of the course. During the second semester instruction is given in the use of power tools. This large group of senior girls is taking the Religion class quite seriously. After Father Watson's thorough instruction on Liturgy, the Pope's Encyclicals, Marriage, Vocations, and other important topics, they feel that they ought to be able to assume future responsibilities. The Physics laboratory group is performing an experiment on the measure- ment of electric currents. Shorthand ll. This class is straining every nerve to pass its IOO-word tran- scription test before the strenuous social activities of these graduates begin.
