FRESHMAN SQUIRES The freshman hoop squad under the leadership of new assistant coach Gerry Uiltourke racked off a winning season. The play was occasionally spotty, hut the Squires showed enough flashes of hrilliance to cause hope for the future. They kept the tradition alive of a winning freshman liasket- hall season with eight wins against six losses. Eddie Castonguay, Tommy Barnicle. and Dave Kauppinen, who also performed for the B-Squad. were the scoring and rehounding leaders for the Squires. Paul Farineau, Francis Cormier, Dick Testa, Wesley Landry, and Tommy Jordan also played good hall for the yearlings. FRESHNIAN SQUAD B - First row. left to right: Ron Lavoie. The varsity hopefuls. eoached by Gerry OiRourke, had the envious record of 9 wins and 2 losses on their home court, and held their own on foreign surfaces. They bested all their opponents at least once. Dick Trudel, Tommy Peralta, and Gerry Chester were the big scoring guns for the team, while Ron Sibley and Charlie Sicard did tremendously well off the boards. Highly commendable play was given by Norman Boucher and George Fischer before the latter was sidelined with a neck injury. Freshmen Tom Barnicle and Ed Gastonguay also helped tremen- The xoutbful junior xarsity and the freshman Mu e by xarsity and freshmen.
