SISTER ALICE ACCEPTS THE N.D. CHALLENGE Every student knows how hard it is to start in a new school - a school that holds problems and challenges never before faced. For most, it is a nerve-wracking experience. But one newcomer to Notre Dame seems to be handling the pressure quite well. She is Sister Alice Swartz, the school's new Vice-Principal. Coming from Holy Spirit in Absecon, New Jersey where she taught English and Religion Sister Alice is as new to being a Vice-Principal as she is to Notre Dame. In spite of this she finds her new routine different but good. When asked what that new routine was like she simply laughed and said Chaos! and produced a list of various duties as Vice-Principal. They ranged from the distribution of keys to publicity for Notre Dame. Her list also included every activity that takes place in school. Even Sister Alice had to admit that it's difficult trying to keep up with all the activities that exist. She modestly attributed some of her success to the students whom she finds very friendly and will- ing to accept and work with people . She also ob- served that the faculty is very generous with time and talents. Is is only right to give credit where credit is due and Sister Alice certainly deserves credit for the results she has achieved in what has probably been one of the most hectic times of her life.
