At Notre Dame, religion is made a vital and living factor in the students life. Regular religious education in the classroom is supplemented by a complete religious program under the direction of Fr. Baker. This Program includes religious services and devotions throughout the school year. Each day Mass and Holy Com- munion are made available to the students. On the first Friday of every month the entire student body participates in the Mass and Holy Communion in honor of the Sacred Heart. However, the most significant event of the year for each student is the retreat. Especially important is the senior retreat which this year was held at the Villa Redeemer. This final retreat for the seniors is a fitting climax to four years of spiritual development in high school. A new practice introduced this year which has been very successful is the Senior Adoration Program. This giving of self to Cod for an hour has further enriched the school's religious life. All of these things have enabled the students to seek and to find spiritual maturity which is the basic requirement for a true Christian gentleman. Page 77
