The question has been asked many times, Why do Catholic boys go to Catholic schools? The an- swer to this question is not found in it being a moral obligation of parents, or even that their boys will get a better education. No, it is much more than that. At Notre Dame religious instruction is empha- sized. Moreover, our learning is not restricted to the classroom, we learn from the daily morning confession and communion, the three one-day retreats a year, the various religious and vocational talks, and the influ- ence engendered by the Brothers of Holy Cross. Through these means we learn the validity of a Catholic education, the validity of sound religious principles and the validity of a good Christian life. -Greg Dempsey One of the greatest advantages of a Catholic education is the availability of the sacraments.
