We had reached the half- way mark in our careers after brav- ing the uhigh seas for two years. The worst seemed to be behind us, and we came back, this fall, glowing with pride in our new position. Junior year was the time to write a ubaby thesisv, become engaged or indulge in intense philosophical dis- cussions-and all in spite of twenty- four credits. At last we were matured. We had crossed the bridge of Fresh- man awedness, climbed the wall of sophistication and, now, we were finally on the inside, looking out. We had earned the rank of upperclass- men. The Freshman Adoption ceremony ensured our rights to Junior privi- leges and gave us an opportunity to demonstrate our talents in vaudeville. 92 fi 3 L I 1 f F :Y 1 'QI W! FNS? 76 F rf

Besides the usual humid atmos- phere and coexistent bulletins stat- ina the type of weather in which one U u is not allowed to wear a kerchief, Spring brought us the new concern of planning the Senior-Sophomore luncheon for our older sisters, we had never realized that there could be so much controversy over a roast chicken! The luncheon, at the Tavern of the Green in Central Park, closed our social calendar for the year, and a few days later, with the turn of a tassel, we officially became upper- classmen and smiled knowingly on the newly-made sophomores.
