Looking back on Freshman year now, we can smile at our fears, but the grossness of their magnitude overf whelmed us then. That day we were petrified at our humble position in the World. Glancing enviously around us at the first Tea, we wondered if we could ever attain the poise and con- Cookie voicing our appreciation at Freshman Investiture. W 0

Freshman year introduced us to the bazaar in the midst of a hurri- cane. This storm was but the begin- ning: it was the prediction of the future storms that would accompany most of our social functions. The Christmas party was our first contribution to the social life of the college. We, as hostesses, cranned our necks, slid off ladders and stretched our arms in order to decorate the giant tree in the center of the audi- torium. Pouring at high tea was a frightening experience to think about but we passed it off expertly, beaming at the laudatory remarks about the success of our party. Christmas vacation meant a relief from school and gave our tired muscles a rest from an exercise in which we were always participatingg the exercise that followed the com- mand - 4'Freshmen, to the audito- rium! We have to put up the chairs. Exams were not a bright prospect for us still green coeds and a curtain of gloom seemed to fall over most of us. Seeing the doors guarded by stu- dent councilors made the tenSi0I1 even worse but we overcame our fi1'St major obstacle satisfactorily.
