E5 The Student Council, led by its capable president, Peggy Johnson, acts' as an interagent between student body and administrative officers. Its moderator is Sister Mary Laure, President. The Council gives a final decision on many campus activities and lends support, both financial and moral, to the organizers of these activities. In the course of 1961-62, Student Council sponsored a supper where Freshmen were given a brief introduction into campus organizations. They also sponsored the annual Christmas party for the student body and faculty, a Communion Breakfast on the feast of Christ the King, and a formal dance as part of the Winter Carnival. The outstanding activity of the year for the Council is the planning and organ- izing of the Junior-Senior Banquet and of the Senior Prom in May. And a goodtime was had . . . li .4 -if Lucie, Pres., Cercle'Paul Claudel L7 D Iw- The Cercle Paul Claudel seeks to instill a love of the French language and culture chiefly among the Franco-American students at N.D.C. Sister Mary Pierre, assisted by the club president, Lucy Gingras, has organized a series of bingo parties for the purpose ot enriching the department with French language and literature records. Thalian Players unites the dramatic talent found on campus. This past year, Charlotte Hebert, as president, organized the Christmas-in-November fashion show which proved very successful. Le Chat Gris, Thalian Players' share in the Winter Carnival, attracted a large number of students. More than one valuable lesson is imparted on occasion by Sister Mary Louise Ida, moderator.
