Til-IROUGH the past sixty years, with the steady develop- ment of Notre Dame has taken place a parallel growth in its mission activities Especially active is the Mission Club which tends to follow the Rt. Rev. Msgr. john P. Treacy's Propagation of the Faith program by aiding both the home and foreign missions. It has sponsored raffles and collected large quantities of stamps, the proceeds of which are sent to the missionaries, particularly Father Charles Bonnot and Father John Kilian, two Jesuit priests. Members of the club sew dresses, dolls and pin cushions in their spare time along with making religious book- marks and collecting holy pictures. EVERY Catholic girl cannot attend a Catholic high school, but in order that our friends may share the protection and beauty of our beloved Mother's blue mantle, we have revived the Mercier Club which was Hrst introduced at Notre Dame in 1929 and flourished until four years ago. Through religious chats by a visiting priest, chapel services, and a social hour, the Mercier group at Notre Dame fulfills the purpose of the club, namely: to give Catholic girls in public high schools an opportunity to associate with friends of their own faith.
