No senior was left harboring any doubts as to whether one letter could alter the pronuncia- tion of a French word. Latin scholars, enthralled by the oratory of Cicero and the poetic depths of Virgil read on into the night. They got a taste of medieval Latin, too, in excerpts from St. Augustine, St. Jerome and the Church Fathers. Subjects ranging from the Suez crisis to ju- venile delinquency were discussed in National Problems classes, while domestic problems, from the family budget, working parents, and child care, to dating and grooming afforded lively dis- cussions in Family Living classes. Some English students began to feel a personal attachment toward writers they studied after perusing every known book written about them. Browning and Thompson were favorites. You ain't nothin' but a hound dog! Rita Moriconi supplies the music for a Family Living Class skit illus- trating the contrast between life with and without emo- tion. Co-starring are M. Nelson, A. DuBusky, P. Moran and P. Jones. Family Living discussions cover almost everything from Elvis to efficiency in budgeting. ,r Freshman Day Bubbles with Laughter Memories are being made for the freshmen as seniors plan Fresh- man Day. C. Barricelli wraps favors that are reminders Our Lady IS always here. Decorating the stage is fun for M. Morahan, A. Harold, and C. Cappelletti. Pat jones, program planner, sees that no evidence is left behind.

Leading the school, under the watchful care of Our Lady, seniors substituted kindness for teas- ing in Freshman Day plans, inaugurating the Senior-Freshman luncheon. Another '57 first was sponsorship of the Winter Ball, which seniors endeavored to make Our Lady's Ball, Marylike in every way. Trash cans added a musical note to the memorable emergency Tryst drive which launched our yearbook with a cheer and a chuckle. Senior interior decorators produced the galaxy of angel-haired stars that shone down the stair-well at Christmas time, as well as several daintily chopped trees among the classroom and corridor decorations.
