The junior Miss was easily recognizable by her shiny junior pin and her aura of sophistica- tion. But beneath her gay exterior a new seri- ousness was growingg and she found her Junior religion course helpful in solving the moral and social problems met in everyday living, as she made a deeper study of human and divine law. The annual Retreat in November left her even more determined to make this year her most uiccesslul in the eyes of Our Lord and His Blessed Mother, Open and closed e's were fharmingly jumbled as she tried to repeat tales ol romantic France in her own words. Irregular verbs, however, provided her with the greatest opportunity for developing her llair for originality. Double, double, toil and trouble! clamor the three witches J. Bedingfield, J. VVilliams and M. Brookbank. A Villeneuve and M. Kelly direct the cauldron scene from Macbeth. Caesar, she unflinchingly battled her way through his Gallic Wars, armed with supines and gerundives. As her powers of concentration increased, along with her knowledge of words, she understood Notre Dame's emphasis on Latin. Hearty support ol' school activities prepared her for the day when the Junior Class would lead them. Her class was represented in the Fashion Show, when students modeled Mary- like gowns for the Winter Ball. She sold pea- nuts for polio, collected for the Tuberculosis Association, the Marc.h of Dimes, and the Hun' garian Relief Fund. And she enjoyed the movies that rewarded school spirit and brought inter- vals of relaxation. In March she glowed with spirit as Blue-Ties celebrated Junior Day.
