' .iyffffi fagii During initial meetings with the new yearbook, laughing, chattering, and jokl ing reignedg but as December and Jan- uary rolled around, that we-have-six- whole-months-till-deadline attitude dis- appeared, and an industrious Tryst staff settled down to business. Dummies were brought up to par under the scrutinizing eye of editors, legends were fitted to pictures, headlines measured for copy, and patron and sponsor lists alphabeti- cally arranged. ,X great flurry of work, a friendly team to at-complisli it . . . and finally the dunuuy of our yearbook was escorted to press. And then - an eager staff of newcomers began plans for next year's yearbook. Posters, pep rallys, perseverance, prac- tice, and praise highlighted a new year of successful competition for the Var- sity at Notre Dame. From the starting whistle of the first game to the final minute of the last, the Bluebirds met defeat only twice. In a hard fought game with Holy Trinity, the champions this year, the decision was against Notre Dame by one point. Meeting their toughest opponent, Holy Names, the Varsity bowed again. Immaculate Conception Academy, a newcomer to the league, developed a formidable team during the season, but the Bluebirds downed them in their last league game. X'Vith perseverance and practice, the Kay Streeters were victor- ious in all other league games. Spirit was high this year as sportsman- ship was stressed above championship.
