In her introductory narration, -Ieannette Cantwell stressed the carefree com- placence that marked the period. In the dances representative of the period, elegant ladies strolled in the park with dainty parasols to shield them from the sun, bathers romped by the sea, and couples glided to the waltz.

These years were rich in song, and the glee club chose melodies by Herbert, Romherg, de Rose, and Rodgers as best expressing the voice of the times. Schoolgirls ol' 1900 danced their lei- LINDA TAYLdR B1ossomtime - 1950 surely way to school, and the jan age inspired an interpretation ol' the Castle XValk. Modern interest in ballet appeared in a springtime dance. ln the finale, Margaret Doherty, urged Americans to stand with their countrymen of the past in the faith that has kept America strong, as the glee clulm sang In God We' Trust.
