avian rocefifi ion onorfi ueen 0 .Heaven :ff Following l'. Collins, who carries the crown for Our Lady, and Mahoney, a page, May Queen Marie Burke and her attendants, Valerie Lord and Rebecca Cloyrl, pause during the procession. 68 ls: .. ..,. . ..v:.' W is ftfvx can A perfect May afternoon provided the setting for an especially beautiful May procession, N. D.A's tribute to Our Lady in her month, her year. Clad in Mary's own colors, and carry- ing a sheaf of lilies, the May Queen fol- lowed the reverent procession of stu- dents. Mary's favorite prayer resounded in the streets as the Sodality Prefect led the rosary and was answered by four hundred youthful voices praising their Heavenly Queen. Strains of Oh Mary, we crown thee with blossoms today filled St. Aloysius Church while students approached the altar and left their bouquets there for Our Lady. And, as the May Queen crowned Mary with her crown of roses, each student renewed the consecration of herself to Mary Immaculate in this her Marian Year. a I' .1 -'A'-8 Marianne Redmond, Marie Hoffman, and Bar- bara Clements lead the May Procession down Eye Street towards Saint Aloysius Church, where the crowning will take place. sae R, , In the Christmas pageant, St. Anne QR. Lennonj watches the cradle of the Infant Mary, over whom the angels P. Siloom, R, Clraziano, and S. Gordon hover. The Cornelia Otis Skinners of the Notre Dame stage boast a diversified dramatic field, consisting chiefly of comedy and reli- gious tableaux. Adding a continental touch to the agenda is the annual play in ze langue francaisef' which centered this year around the shop of a poor lacemaker. An attempted murder and a history club meeting were the two elements combined in Undertow, N. D. A.'s 1954 entry in the One Act Play contest. These dramatic activities were bound to- gether by the lovely Christmas tableaux, which presented living pictures from Our Lady's life from her birth to the first Christmas. The year's plays formed a pack- age brimming over with Kay Street's dra- matic talent. . - if ', 1 ' A .l- . x 1 tix f' .t .1 514 x .fs . C wk! 4 J Mmm B Cornu, A. Quaid, Joyner, C.
