'6N.D.A. has always had great spirit, says Mrs. Mary Durkee. This year, Mrs. Durkee has taught Alge- bra I and Geometry, both the regular and honors courses. She believes that each student should be encouraged to do her very best. When not teach- ing, Mrs. Durkee enjoys baking, gar- dening, camping and working puz- zles. Miss Philomena O,Donne1I has said, It's a nice feeling to be teach- ing at my alma mater. Miss O'Don- nell teaches the pre-basketball class, and is also the basketball coach for both the varsity and junior varsity teams. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, camping, back-packing, read- ing, traveling, and sports in general. Mrs. Anne Dobbs can be found teaching Typing I and II. When not teaching, Mrs. Dobbs likes to spend time creatively-either with oil painting or writing. She says that Notre Dame has a most enjoyable group of students. Mrs. Dobbs is also involved in child counseling, individ- ual and art therapy, communications and relationships workshops, and she is a member of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council as a communicator. The intellectual and cultural heritage of the past should be the stepping stone to the future, is the educational philosophy of Sister Mary St. Ann. This year, Sister's teaching schedule included Art II, Studio Art I and Il, and Advanced Placement Studio Art. When audio- visual equipment needs repair, Sister is the one to call. In her spare time, Sister is often found working with ceramics, especially in experiment- ing with glazes. Mrs. .I.G. Tyhurst is the adviser of LA REINA, Notre Damels newspa- per, and also teaches French I, Eng- lish 10, and Englishll. I love teach- ing here,', she says. In her leisure hours, Mrs. Tyhurst enjoys playing Backgammon, sewing, cooking, reading colonial period books and magazines and creating with colonial decorating. As the chairperson of the Foreign Language Department, Mrs. Mere- deth Vogler involves herself totally in teaching French to second, third, and fourth year students, in addition to the advanced placement students. In her spare time, Mrs. Vogler likes to travel, cook, jog, play the guitar and lay bricks. Besides cooking for the Sisters and students of N.D.A., Sister Mary Manetia fshown to the leftj delights in cultivating a flower and vegetable garden. -ep . ,.. gg Mrs. Anne Dobbs Mrs. Jill Delaney In commenting on Notre Da- me,Mrs. Jill Delaney remarked, HI really enjoy teaching here because I feel that the teachers and students have an opportunity to get to know one another on a personal level as well as on an academic levelf, This year, Mrs. Delaney's classes includ- ed Spanish II, Spanish III and Span- ish IV. I think teaching religion at Notre Dame is a dream job-I really do, says Mrs. Marilyn Almeida. This year, she taught Religion 9, Religion 10, C.C.D., Prayer, Conflicts of Faith, Christian Service and Church. When not busy teaching, Mrs. Al- meida enjoys gardening and working with Victorian bead flower crafts.
