,rag Our Editor - Sonya Lewis gcbforia . . After a lapse of three years, Notre Dame is publishing its yearbook again and what a memorable year in which to do it! There have been so many events this year that I am sure ir will never be forgotten. . On February llth, the Church celebrates the centenary of the apparition of Our Lady at Lourdes. The Immaculate Conception is one of the most beautiful titles of Our Lady, and to her we have dedicated our book. This is the year that Canada changed her government from Liberal to Conservative, after 25 years. This is the year, and the first time in Canadian history, that a reigning monarch presided at the opening of parliament. This is the ear that man has achieved the first reat ste in s ace travel, one of Y . .3 . . the greatest advances of our times. Not only has Russia jolted the world with her Sput- niks and space dogs, but the Western world has had her measure of success. This is the year that our wonderful Tiger Cats came right out on top of Eastern football championship. They did not stop there, but went right on for the Grey cup title. This is also the graduation year for some of us. Our final year in school, after which we are going out to face :he world. We will never forget all that has been done for us at Notre Dameg not only the amount of Academic knowledge gained, but the spirit- ual and moral guidance we have received. lf it happens that through the years we forget some incident which occurred dur- ing our high school days, we will always have our yearbook to remind us. ...l2...
