The newly added Latin Club has been bustling with activity. Ingenia Latinarum, as it is called held meetings once a month. At these meetings the girls presented programs on Roman customs and Ways of living. At Christmas they celebrated the Roman feast Saturnalia where a Roman Santa Claus gave the girls their gifts. The highlight of the year was the Roman Banquet held in the cafeteria Where the girls came attired as early Romans. A Roman Santa Claus distributing his gifts. 106 12 Christmas. MA come ance The first social event of the year was held on October 27. The Welcome Dance, sponsor- ed by the Journalism staff for the purpose of raising money for the Madonna, proved to be successful beyond expectation. Members of each class were present at the dance and this, along with the donated decora- tions from each homeroom, made evervone feel as though it were her dance. The staff feels that all attending really felt welcomed and right at home at N.D.A. Wofre ame ay if :9lSri'4Ek , rl S f In order to acquaint the Freshmen with all t organizations and their purposes at Notre Da a Welcome Freshmen day was planned by th big sisters, the Juniors. A program which includ singing, dancing and skits was presented by t Juniors under the direction of Sister Cyrenia Mari With a clear knowledge of all the functioning bo ies at Notre Dame, the Freshmen have added the value of these clubs by their interested par icipation. 108
