Students are prepared to meet their responsi- bilities in a democratic country having freedom of press and speech. They are also made aware ot the power of the spoken and written word to influence others in making this a better world. Appreciation and enjoyment of good literature is not neglected. This is begun in the Freshman and Sophomore year. In the Iunior year students concentrate on Ameri- can literature while in the Senior year they be- come acquainted with the best masters in English literature.
