In Memoriam L fig DR. JAMES P. SMITH Beloved physician, benefactor, friend. He has fulfilled the Oath of Hippocrates, Now, if I carry out this oath, and break it not, mayl gain forever reputation among all men for my life, and for my art. His integrity, his kindness, his keen sense of humor and his high moral courage earned the respect and love of all who knew him. His exemplary life was given in un- selfish devotion to this community, its schools and its interests, and his passing, like the falling of the giant tree leaves a lonesome place against the sky. 7
