In Recognition fkfjar, f -A , We, the graduating class of 1962, take great pride in recognizing Mrs. Marjorie Walsh in our year- book. If someone were asked to describe Mrs. Walsh in one sentence, we know exactly what he would say, To know her is to love her. , When we remember sitting in Mrs. Walsh's class, we know we learned more than just the lesson of the day. We learned that a sense of humor was just as important as those famous dates: we laughed at ourselves and our mistakes. Mrs. Walsh's sense of humor cannot be described with words, but we all remember an example of it. Who can forget the year she sat on the stage and pounded the bongo drums for our Sophomore Assembly? Ma Walsh, as she has, been lovingly called by many of her students, shall always remain in our memories as not only a teacher, but as a very good friend, She gave many students the incentive to improve themselves, and when they needed help they knew exactly where to go. There is a light shining from within her that can inspire a smile on the loneliest face. And, if anyone were ever to listen to the Alma Mater, he might believe that certain lines referred only to our Mrs. Walsh: Though we may journey far away, our thoughts will turn to thee. The work and frm that we have shared, The friendships we hold dear Will linger in our memories And keep thee always near.

In Memoriam L fig DR. JAMES P. SMITH Beloved physician, benefactor, friend. He has fulfilled the Oath of Hippocrates, Now, if I carry out this oath, and break it not, mayl gain forever reputation among all men for my life, and for my art. His integrity, his kindness, his keen sense of humor and his high moral courage earned the respect and love of all who knew him. His exemplary life was given in un- selfish devotion to this community, its schools and its interests, and his passing, like the falling of the giant tree leaves a lonesome place against the sky. 7
