RECOGNITION We the class of 1955 hereby recognize Mrs. Frances N. Root. During her ten years in this school system she has taught English, Latin, and French until 1954, when she became full-time librarian. She has been advisor of the yearbook since 1948, coached Prize Speaking Contests for five years in Norfolk, and has been the director of the senior play each yea r. Before entering our school system, Mrs. Root taught in Oswegatchie and Hermon. -She obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Lawrence University and her Librarian's Degree from Albany State College for Teachers. She has done additional work at the University of Chicago, the University of McGill,'and State University Teachers College at Potsdam. The loyal service you have given to the school children and to the people of your community cannot be easily expressed in a few words. You have worked diligently with us, including many extra hours, helping us to make our extra-curricular activities successful. You have been an inspira- tion to all of us, and for these reasons we are honored to be able to pay tribute to you this year. 5
