s emorS John Kennedy ' s inaugural address quickened the hearts and minds of not only our nation but of the world, particularly of young people everywhere. The memory of his inspired words Ask not what your country can do for you— ask what you can do for your country is imperishable. And Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of liberty must again become our rallying cry. It is essential to our nation ' s well-being that we be active, creative people because it is in this way that we can contribute to our country ' s advancement. Neither apathy nor complacency can help a nation grow.
