Flaherty for helping to make this produc- tion a success. Our football team carried us through a fine football season with Marty Glebus and Dave Lane as co-captains. Sansone, Gordon, Marchand, Curtin, DeBenedictis, Feeney, Griffin, Greenwood, Ferris, and Sullivan held the line, through which only one opponent was successful in pene- trating. Arlene Connolly, captain, Lois La- Civita, Judy Dempsey, Rebecca Pelletier, Mary Ellen Welch, Nancy Newman, and junior Susan Crawford displayed the spirit to back up our athletes as cheer- leaders should. The Pep squad helped out in this capacity, also. Our basketball team, with Kevin Dixon as captain, had a wonderful season which enabled us to take part in the Tech Tour- ney. Glebus, Barrett, O ' Connor, Sansone, Armour, and Johnson contributed to this shining record. Nicky Curran, their faith- ful manager, deserves credit for his en- couragement and his favorable newspaper articles in the local press. Our hockey enthusiasts supported Grif- fin, Feeney, Baldwin, Gore, Butters, Campisano, Greenwood, and Curtin throughout the skating season. Next our class presented its annual musical revue, The Singing Freshman. Under the direction of Mr. Flaherty and Mr. Faucett, it provided an evening of fine entertainment. Mary Lou Curran, Jimmy Bright, Bobby Ferris, Jimmy Gor- don, Bunny Griffin, Brenda Holder, Judy Dempsey, Nick Curran, and the dance groups and choruses all helped in its successful production. In honor of Sookie , we seniors chose Sayonara as the theme of our prom. The colorful gowns against the back- ground of Japanese lanterns and flowers provided a perfect setting for our long awaited promenade, which will always re- main rosy in our memories. Kevin Dixon, Jimmy Balfour, Brian Drummey, Eddie Feeney, Bobby Armour, and Dickie Pellowe helped to make our baseball record one of the best in our school history. For the first time, N. H. S. printed a newspaper called the Hilltopper. Edi- tors were Lois L aCivita and Frances Hur- ley, and co-editors were Georgianna Sweeney and George Malacinski, under the advisorship of Miss Evans. Our con- gratulations to them ! The senior class extends appreciation to Miss Hubbard as Student Council ad- visor ; to Donnie Johnston, Student Coun- cil president ; to Bobby Armour, class president ; and to Mrs. Riley and her staff for the long hours spent on the yearbook. We would also like to thank Mr. Hay- den, our principal, our head class ad- visor, Miss O ' Sullivan, and all our Senior advisers for guiding us through our most important year. The Class of ' 58 departs now with happy memories of their three years at Norwood High, hoping that their years in the future will be as significant and fruitful. REBECCA PELLETIER Senior Historian
