' 58 OFFICERS AS SOPHOMORES Ross, Eppich, Pierce, Pelletier, Gore, Sansone, Armour Green Apples on the Scene ' Way back in September of 19.55, a history-making group of newly-fledged Sophomores flocked gaily into the corri- dors of old Norwood High. The three-year long trek ahead seemed endless, but we were happy at the prospect. To guide us through our class activities we chose our class officers : Peter Sansone, President ; Elaine Pierce, Vice President ; Faye Ross, Secretary ; Rebecca Pelletier, Girls ' Treasurer; Arthur Armour, Boys ' Treasurer; Margaret Eppich, Girls ' A. A. ; and Kenneth Gore, Boys ' A. A. In October, our Sophomore Party brought out the hidden talent in the class under the direction of our emcee, Kevin Dixon, Moments to Remember were made unforgettable by Mary Lou Curran, Mary Ellen Welch, William Balfour, Maureen Kelter, Elaine Chamberland, Margaret Eppich, Barbara Collins, Lilias Pierpont, James Gordon, John Griffin, Paul Connolly, Brian Drummey, Becky Pelletier, and Nancy Newman. In sports, many of our stalwart he-men began to establish reputations, and the fairer sex cheered them on with great enthusiasm, with Arlene Connolly serving as one of the cheerleaders. Scholastically, a good percentage of our members at- tained honor roll prominence. An inspiring Christmas Pageant was presented, high-lighted by Mary Ellen Welch ' s solo, Ave Maria, prior to the Christmas holidays. By spring, we were firmly entrenched in our niche at N. H. S. The rest of the year flew by, and June was with us before we knew it. We had completed a success- ful year and looked forward in anticipa- tion to another. [23]
