Elation tinged with timidity characterized our arrival. What ecstasy! No more silent passing under watchful eyes, just free untrammeled ambling from class to class, merrily buzzing all the while! What bliss we felt in mingling with the B.T.O. ' s, those heroes whom we worshipped from afar, Arta Gulla, Johnny Poce, Pete Lasinskas, Al Butters, etc. What fun it was to take our rightful places in the assembly hall and in the grandstand ; to gather in the locker rooms and share the latest gossip. What tragedy to be absent, for although make-up was bad enough, worse still we hated to miss out on the grapevine news. Came election day and the leaders of the papoose class turned out to be Billy Lynch, president; Wally Peckham, in charge of vice; Bevie Tomm, secretary; Palma Bilotta and Teddy McGowan, treasurers; and Ann Priday and Donny Glaser, A. A. representatives. Then our class party — what a potpourri (polite for Mulligan stew) that was — peanut races, suitcase races, a quiz program and what-have-you! Putting on a Christmas pageant, however, helped to inflate our deflated egos. Next we plunged into basketball and hockey enthusiasm, when our studies didn ' t interfere too seriously with our pleasures, that is. Soon our flagging attention was drawn from the classroom to the bustling diamond and the tennis court activity. Before we had re- covered from spring fever, graduation music filled the halls and soon with a tear and a smile we were bidding adieu to our Senior friends and thus ended a happy, exciting year.
