National Honor Society FEBRUARY CLASS OF 1939 Admission to the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors which may come to the graduating senior. Members are chosen from the upper sixth of the class. Eligibility is determined by scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The invitation to membership and the initiation ritual is a major feature of Class Day. The Parent Teacher’s Association contributes to the cost of the pins presented to each new member. From the February Class of 1939 these students were elected to membership: Melvin Browning, Betty Ferguson, Jean Fessenden, Betty Fisher, LaVerne Fisgus, Betty Gorsuch, Dorothy Lapp, Margie McGowan, and Leila Sides. 26
