1850 PfiOSPfCTOfiS The Members of the Senior Class of this, THE GOLDEN YEAR OF 1950, are like our forefathers of a century ago, those ambitious prospectors in the rush for gold. As they, with patience, perseverance, and determination digged in the earth for the precious metal, so have we, for twelve long years been digging for riches found in books. As they sifted, so have we been sifting the higher ideals and truths from the baser. As great joy filled the prospectors’ hearts upon finding sufficient golden nuggets to make their fortunes secure, so great joy fills our hearts as we Seniors of 1950 find in our possession 16 nuggets — golden nuggets — enough for a gold brick. With the full ownership of our diplomas, we shall have all rights and privileges as the prospectors had to their claim stakes. About us we see many opportunities — GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES — to continue our education, to enrich our lives, to be of service to our fellow man, to our country, and to our Creator. Well-used opportunities will help us realize the GOLDEN DREAMS for a better tomorrow. “TO ARRIVE, WE MUST KEEP MOVING FORWARD.” Dora Lee Wiley Editor of THE GOLDEN YEAR.
