IQS4 Foreword What is a Norwin senior? Webster defines a senior as a person who is superior, and he couldn't have more adequately or competently described the Norwin class of '84, for we are indeed superior. Why are we superior-because we've had the guidance and instruction of a superior Norwin faculty. We have been confronted with multitudinous challenges and hardships in our sophomore, junior, and senior years, but because of the faculty's support we have overcome these obstacles and become mature, capable adults with high goals and aspirations. They have always been willing to bend an ear or lend a hand to anyone who needed help with a problem. Nothing is out of our reach. Upon graduation, the world will be ours to explore, improve, and enjoy. Most of us will begin totally new lives, socialize with new groups of people and, in some instances, move to new states or countries. But despite the distances that may separate us in the future, there will always be a bond linking us together-a bond comprised of our cherished high school memories. We will always remember the two month strike which delayed our entrance into our sophomore year, the countless football and basketball games we attended, the numerous dances we enjoyed, the unending finals we took, and, of course, the prom. We will never forget the lasting friendships we made and both the good and bad times we shared together. Our senior year contained special moments-moments which shouldn't be forgotten. For this reason, the Pennon '84 has attempted to capture these cherished memories of our special, final year at Norwin High School in this unique edition of the Pennon. As we approach our future as products of caring teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators of Norwin High School, we should always remember that the future is not a result of choices among different paths offered by the present, but a place that is created-created first in mind and will, created next in activity. The future isn't some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of making them changes both the maker and the destination.
