In turn. those elected have usually regarded their offices as responsibilities that must he dealt with honestly and ear- nestly. This year the seniors hegan the round of elections for class oflicers. .Xfter much delilweratiou. they elected Henry lioscher as their president. lle was a classmate who had fast gained popu- larity as a leader since he had served as vice-president during his junior year. .Xt his side as vice-president. they placed David lid, a sincere lad with ideals of the highest. Capahle Faye Perkins was almost unanimously re- elected secretary. This marked Faye's fourth year as secretary of the class of 1940. Together these three senior ofticers conducted the husiness of their class. Throughout the year they ofticiated at class meetings in the auditorium and whenever necessary represented their class in the school and community. Their duties were tinally lnrought to an end when they presided at the Com- mencement exercises in Slay.
