iw DEDICA T10 On October twenty-first, nineteen hundred and fifty- six, the Norwich Free Academy observed the one-hundredth anniversary of its founding. The editors and staff of the 1957 Mirror feel, therefore, that we must dedicate our Mirror to someone whose association with the school has made a noteworthy contribution to its progress. In this line of thought we hereby dedicate the Mirror of the Class of 1957 to Mrs. Ozias Dodge. lt is not as individuals that we are indebted to Mrs. Dodge, nor is it as a class. But it is rather as a school we owe her so much. Mrs. Dodge has, through the years, done much to broaden the intellectual and cultural fields of the students here at the Academy. Few people really know how much Mrs. Dodge actu- ally does. Besides being director of Slater Museum, the only fully equipped high school art museum in the world, she obtains for us exhibits from the Metropolitan and other famous museums. Illustrated below are views of some of the valuable collections that have come to the Museum from generous donors during Mrs. Dodge's thirty years of office. These important art possessions are another feature which makes the Academy unique among second- ary schools. And so, we feel it altogether fitting, that in this cen- tennial year of the Norwich Free Academy, we dedicate the Mirror of the Class of 1957 to Mrs. Dodge. 'i'
