Jugzfiir- - , . gl if ,l 1 - rf.- ' - . x A H FTIXHI1 131. - .A . fA':: The Slater Memorial is the oldest building on the Academy campus. lt was built in T885 by William Slater in memory of his father, John Slater. At the time of its construction, the Slater Building was considered to be one of the greatest architectural accomplishments of the nineteenth century and was written up in many national publications. Slater basement, in addition to the main- tenance rooms, also contains classrooms and the Music Room. On the first floor we find Slater Hall. Here we had our inumerable class assemblies, en- ioyed the annual Minstrel, the Playshop pro- ductions and Senior Day activities. The second floor houses the Main Offices and Slater Museum. How well we shall re- member the Main Office, where we stood trembling before Mr. Bouley and sought guid- ance from Mrs. Post, Mr. Hamblen, Mrs. Savard and Mr. Thomas! How well we shall remember the P.A. room, the office staff and Mr. Shattuck! Slater Museum is the only fully equipped high school art museum in the country. It con- tains treasures we did not fully appreciate until we were seniors.
