The fight for the South Shore League title went down to the wire as the girls battled neck and neck before finally being nosed out at the finish. Despite this, the girls had a terrific year in fin- ishing near the top of the league. They received stunning performances from the entire team. Involved in many close decisions, the team hustled and gave every- thing in order to make its standing in the South Shore League respectable and note- worthy. With many fine players returning next year, the future holds an exciting and successful season. Cries of We're Number One echoed throughout Norwell as the Clippers concluded a tre- mendous season as the South Shore League Champions. The team finished the season with a 17-3 record. To the end it was an exciting, tension-filled season, on the last two days, the team vied with Duxbury for the league title. The first game gave an ll-7 win, and the second game - a true barn-burner - landed Norwell the title. Pitcher, Joe Connolly finished with a perfect record and was named to the all- league squad. The high scoring of Lisa Blanc, Pam O'Reilly, and Amy Dempsey and good overall team defense gave the girls a 7079 win - loss record and a solid hold on second place in the league. Boys J.V.
