Coach Walsh's main objective at the start of the season was to become familiar with the team and not be caught at a disadvantage in comparison with the other teams. Apparently they were not. At the first game, Nor- well throttled Apponequet, 26-6. For the future, Coach Walsh would like to have the Junior Varsity program become a separate entity from the Varsity team. Through the devoted efforts of Mr. Osgood, Varsity, and Mr. Gerrish, Junior Varsity, the soccer program has steadily increased in number. The unity of the team can be at- tributed to the leadership of the co- captains, M. Morrill and J. Mills. The spirit of the team is also in part due to the tremendous turnout of the student body at the games to cheer the team on to victory. The greatest accomplishment and perhaps the most memorable event of the season has been qualifying for the State Tourna- ment, a first for the Norwell High School Soccer Team. . m,.,... .. 1 l 4 J l 5 v A '- thi 1 .III C I L J alfa 'ut' .fl 'L at Ju .v ra ,grew L. , 9' 4 sf K fi '. ggt' :wafer t' l-H.
