While yet there is time look out upon the world. devour it with your eyes. and. if your spirit demands more add at least one stone to the edifice being built. Fill your lungs with the smell of flowers let the first cool breath of dawn blow through your hair. While yet there is time let us greet the dawn together: While yet there is time love. and be loved: let our thoughts throw light in dark places: let your lips blossom in a smile. While yet there is time let the hand of a friend feel the warmth of your hand . How much we have to do, to create. to express! While yet there is time graft a slender bough to a mighty tree. Their record was 6 wins and 8 losses. Norwell became only the second team in the league to have a male head coach. Mr. Emerson pushed the girls hard, emphasizing speed, rebounding and team play. I-Ie earned the respect and the loyalty of all the girls. The team's biggest asset this year was their depth. Mr. Emerson was able to put any of the girls into a game without lowering the quality of the team's play. This depth resulted from the previous varsity experience of eight girls. The remaining four girls came to the varsity with an abundance ol talent and blended in very well with the veterans. The junior Varsity team had a very successful season this year. They finished with a record of 8 wins and 6 losses, This record is even more impressive when the fact is considered that this was probably the youngest squad in the league, being made up entirely of freshmen. r , it 5 N ,f -. What's right with this picture? Well if it were true, we'd be saving 28 billion, 560 million gallons of gas every year. How did we arrive at that figure? Since we're a nation of national averages, we know the average car uses about 735 gallons of gas a year. The Beetle, 3990. Turn the eighty- five million average cars onthe road right now into Beetles, and it works '0'N 70000 Few thing out to a saving of 28,560,000,000 lgive or take a few gallonsl. Now we haven't figured out all the water and antifreeze that would be saved with the Beetle's air-cooled engine. Nor can we compute the extra parking space that would be around. Not to mention all the money people would be able to save in a world of Volkswagens. But we know for sure that this is no pipe dream. There already are police car Beetles up in Ossining. And a custom built, chauffeur-driven Bug in L. A. And Volkswagen taxis all over Honduras. And a Beetle that herds cattle in Missouri. So with gas prices going up and rationing becoming a reality, the Beetle never looked so good. ln fact, you might almost call it beautiful. s in life work as well as a Volkswagen. 33 . 5 ...,..., ,, ' .N , ., so f- .5525 --'i i Em. 0 ff ' ' Q.
