Music of Gold, Melody Stanton, Rick Fiechter, Gassy Polley and Jeff Binkley sound winning. Warm Sounds for a Co Imagine a usual Wells County December night — cold, snowy, windy, too late for football, and no basketball game scheduled yet. But yet any passer- by whizzing by the school could see that the parking lot was almost full, the Commons lights were on, and a soft, candlelit glow was coming from the cafeteria. If this same passerby stopped and entered into the building, he would be even more amazed, for coming from the old drab halls of NHS were beautiful musical sounds! Not video rock, but sounds that 400 years ago were considered pretty exciting entertainment! The sounds were the sounds of the Jesters of Festivity, front: Laurel Kinzer and Angie Bradburn. behind: Connie Macklin and Lori Johnson. The Monks have arrived!! Claudine Elzey and Brian Dettmer play harmony. Chamber Singers, and the candle-glow came from the annual Chamber Feaste, a recreation in food, service, and music of a medieval English Christmas ban- quet. The audience enjoyed a traditional English dinner, and listened to the sing- ing of ballades, madrigals, and other early types of music. Jesters added to the festive atmosphere by making the rounds of the audience and bringing smiles to many faces. So, for two cold December Wells County nights, the school enjoyed a reliving of another country, another winter night, another celebration of the most beautiful of all seasons — Christmas. Is this what the sixteenth century meant by bore-ing! Connie Macklin and Laurel Kinzer bring in the Boar ' s Head in procession. Chamber Singers 1 1

The Typical Week of Fun The fall weather had hit; the time had come. The students fired up and the teachers tried to prepare their nerves for the usual madhouse the school has always called Homecoming. Where once the halls were calm and mellow, artistic impressions and bright colors sprang from the walls. Where once teachers re- mained sedate and students appeared normal, creatures jumped forth wearing hats and shades, overalls, ancient clothes, and sweats. Strange occurrences took place that week: the fifth- place winner in the homecoming queen con- test was a guy, the sophomores were dis- qualified from the float competition for some unusual financing of their float, and Mighty Knight appeared for the last time. After a huge upset last year in the wall competition, the seniors became victorious again in the dress-up days, but lost to the juniors in the float com- petition. Mr. Dormire wore his jumpsuit and bow tie for one more Farmer Day, Mr. McCord forgot the lederhosen, and Mr. Stanton remembered days gone by as he dressed for the occasion in truly historic clothes. The important thing about Homecoming was that everyone par- ticipated! All in all, it was a typical NHS Homecoming! The Freshmen really come through with a great homecom- ing wall. Fire Up Knights, The night glows with sparks from the Bon Fire. Tigger the Tiger, The tiger adds the growl of the homecom- ing spirit.
