Before the season started, Daily Record Sports Editor Brian Questel wrote abo ut a cer- tain blue and white-clad girls ' basketball team. In the article, he stated, If ever a league cham- pionship chase has been over before the bell rang, it ' s this year as the Chipps close in on their fifth consecutive WCL crown. When the season ended, Doylestown ' s girls had indeed finished in first place. However, they didn ' t get there easily, and they weren ' t alone at the top . . . Hello, Norwayne! Your faces may be new, but you sure can play the game! It was a good year — 18 wins in 23 tries, 13- 1 in league. Everyone got to play a lot; in fact, every girl played in every game, and eight girls started at least twice. The offensive average of 60.6 ppg was the area ' s best. That ' s not bad, considering our area included the 1 and 2 teams in the state! Everyone got in on the act: Seven girls scored in double figures at least three times; four (Kim Miller, Lynne Uhler, Ronnie Napier, and Stephanie King) enjoyed 20 point games. Lynne — That ' s Lynne with an e on the end — made All County First team; Kim was Player of the Year! Highlights? Well, how about that school record 102 points vs. Hillsdale? Or would you prefer taking your passion and making it hap- pen (48 to 44) at Doylestown? Some said we performed at a level far beyond expectations. So we did. Yet we always knew a little faith and a lot of hustle would take us a long way!
