Basketball FLRST ROW: Karen Ellis, Annette Dash, Virginia Beck, Carrol Lucas, Earlane Roberts, Joyce Judd, Joyce Darnron, Carol Weaver, Betty Miller, Judy Croft, Joy McAninch, Shirley Lane, Donna Sue Ellis, Helen Walker, Linda Lee. SECOND ROW: Sharon Kellogg, Penny Martini, Sharon Anderson, Madalene Cameron, JaneCroft, Patty McVay, Margaret Harkin, Connie Rinard, Janet Eggers. THIRD ROW: Assistant Coach, Mr. Scott, Coach, Mr. Weberg, Chaperone, Mrs. Martini. The Norwalk Warriorettes basketball schedule was one of the most difficult ever played by a Norwalk sextette. Girls teams from Marion, Polk, Dallas, Madison, and Warren Counties were met during the season, and a record of twenty-three wins and six defeats was established. Outstanding achievements included: Consolation honors in the Warren County Tournament, and runner-up honors at the Martensdale Sectional. Five of the six defeats were by Carlisle, Spring Hill, and Valley of West Des Moines all of whom advanced through the sectional tournaments to the districts. The Norwalk girls in turn scored victories over Spring Hill, St. Marys, and Lacona who all were Sectional winners. Seniors lost through graduation include: Guards, Betty Miller, Karen Ellis and Carol Weaver, Forwards, Judy Croft and Joy McAninch. Seven lettermen will be returning. They are Earlane Roberts, Joyce Judd, Shirley Lane, Donna Sue Ellis, Carrol Lucas, Joyce Damron, and Virginia Beck. The leading scorer was Joy McAninch with 886 points, Judy Croft was second with 470 points, and Earlane Roberts scored 393 points for third. Our total number of points all season was 1808 and our opponents total was 1574. A per game offensive average of 62 points and a defensive average of 54 points. The three starting forwards, Judy Croft, Earlane Roberts, and Joy McAninch scored 1749 points, leaving 59 points scored by other squad members. Co-Captains for the year 1955-56 were Joy McAninch and Betty Miller,

THIRD ROW: Dennis Hildreth, Jerry Sargent, Wendall Kaldenberg, John Bartholomew, Fred Caruthers Jim Iverson, Lawrence Lee, Mr. Weberg. The Norwalk Boys Baseball team completed their fall season with a record of three wins, three defeats one tied game, and one game called on account of rain. For their spring schedule Norwalk will play Des Moines Tech, N01-th, Hartford, and Martengdale, The pitchers for the season were Dennis Harkin, senior-,and Gary O'Neal, junior. Dennis Harkin, Jack Lane, Jim Damron, Jack Beery and lvyl Moore are the seniors leaving the squad. The lettermen re- turning are Gary O'Neal, Lawrance Lee, John Bartholomew, Gary Baker, and Phillip Trent.

Girls Basketball The Norwalk girls won Consolation honors in the County Tournament by easily defeating the Lacona sextettebya score of 67-45. The half-time score was 44 19 and all of the tournament squad saw action.
