NORFOLK The USS NORFOLK is the third ship of the United States Navy to bear that na The NORFOLK was authorized for construction on 18 July 194-7. She was 29 December 1951 at the New York Shipbuilding Corporation, Camden, New Jersey. The USS NORFOLK has demonstrated her anti-submarine capabilities most modern U. S. submarines including the USS Nautiles, USS ALBACORE, and SEA WOLF, The NORFOLK served as flagship for Admiral Jerauld Wright, Comm er-in-Chief U. S. The Principal at the time was Mr. Walter E. Campbell and succeeded in 1955 by Mr, C. W. Perdue. She has served her community with pride.
