All furniture, glassware and silver found in the house are original. There are four major banks with many branches which serve the people of Norfolk, providing them with checking accounts, saving accounts, travelers checks, and by providing loans for citizens of Norfolk. The bridge and tunnel from Norfolk to Portsmouth is one of the main time saving devices recently built by the two cities. Norfolk is other things, too. It is Southern and has a quality that is best expressed hy the word hospitality. lt has its famous Azalea Gardens, where an International Azalea Court is held in late April. This garden is one of the relatively few municipally ovvned and operated in the entire country. It is located adjacent to the Norfolk Municipal Airport on 100 acres of native woodland. Thus, in every way, Norfolk adequately satisfies the needs of a booming American metropolis. Its ever-growing schools, its many municipal services, its mushrooming housing expansion, its innumerable churches, hanks, amusement Centers, its hustling transportation system-all enahle Norfolk to keep its proud title of the largest city in the State of Virginia. -5 Air rwfjj
