Wheeler Mr. Philip Gorman Principal Vice-Principal DEDICATION As rhe class of 1982 prepares to graduore, we find ourselves reminiscing about the past four yeors. Our fondness for one por- riculor woman will stoy with us alwoys. Mrs. Edno Phillips has been advising us and teoching us since the very beginning. When we entered Norton High School as nervous freshmen, she drew us together and gove us the encouragement we needed to begin o suc- cessful ond happy high school life. During the hectic plan- ning of our prom, she was ever-reody to listen ond od- vise. Perhaps most importantly, she has kept all our finances in order, and has mode sure we all paid our dues ond participated in doss activities. Her patience ond perseverance has insured that we held our title os one of the wealthiest classes in Norton High history. Mrs. Phillips ' interest in our class has never dwindled, and her en- thusiosm and cheering smile hove helped us through many difficult times. No one has done as much for us as she has and so, Mrs. Phillips — this book is for you. YEARBOOK STAFF 1982 I. to r : M MocKenzie, S Quisr, D Worchol, L. Sargent, J. Ferrini, D. St. George, M. We ho been the first doss to spend sixth grade in o hall of the high school, so the building was not completel stronge to us. Yet we felt very small ond insignificant as freshmen. However, by the end of freshman year we hod gained a reputation as one of the largest, budest, richest and most spirited freshman classes in Norton High history. Although we did not win any prizes for our Homecoming floot, titled Swot the Hornets, building it drew us together os o doss. Loter that year when we raised S2300 on our first fundraiser, we showed Norton High thot we understood suc- cess. Our St. Potrick ' s Day Donee morl ed the end of a successful year, and showed qur creativity and originality when we covered the cofeterio ceiling with over 4CX) Shamrocks. In the fall of sophomore year, we sold Oiristmos ornaments and then celebrated at our Christmas Dance under a blanket of shining stars that we hod hung. At end the year we ordered our rings, and chose our prom site. 1 Junior yeor wos busy and funfilled. After we received our rings complete with our motto Todoy . . . forever, we storted trolning for Powder Puff. By staying oheod until the final five seconds of the gome, we played an exciting gome. Selling stuffed animals kept us busy until we began the find preporotions for our prom. When Moy 8 arrived we donced the night owoy under our Cobur My World ' ' rainbow ot the King Philip Ballroom. Suddenly it was Senbr Year! We held our Welconne Donee, Spaghetti Supper ond Magazine Drive eorly in the year. By Homecoming, our Senior Spirit was obvious. Spirit Week was a greot success and we bved the Pep Roily when we were announced os winners of the Spirit Cheer and the Holl Decorating Contest. The Homecoming Gonne and Donee, reigned over by Queen Michele Wilkinsofi were great successes! Although we lacked a Powder Puff Gome, we kept our spirit olive by weorin J our team shirts before Thonksgiving Vocotbn. Second semester was filled with onitdpotion as w worried about hool, college and work, ond looked forward to our doss Trip, Breakfast, Closs Night and especially June 10, 1982, our Graduation. 37 Who ' s Who in Norton High School Ideal Norton High School Boy Devlin Hoppiest . ig mimi Jackson rjWIJp Mary MocKenzie Ideal Norton High School Girl Henrietta Yelle Most Musical Jon Vorney Heidi Winchobo jj iMost Af lttous Poul Sorel Henrietta Yelle ' Most Artistic Mike Boyer I Carol Sullivan Sweetest Kurt Jackson Liso Sargent Nicest Eyes Jeff Hottenrott Heidi Winchobo Nicest Hair Kevin Schleicher Heidi Winchobo Nicest Smile iuitf ' Jockson Morlene Nelson Most Changed since Freshman Year HMfH The Class of 1962 Done Most for Class of 1982 Julie Ferrini Grieve CLASS FAVORITES Favorite School Activity: Lunch Football Favorite Rendezvous: The Pits Favorite Group: The J.
