An Appointed Time For everything there is an appointed time and there is a time for every purpose under the heavens. A time to be born, a time to die— A time for planting, a time for uprooting— A time to wound and a time to heal— A time to tear down and a time to rebuild— A time to cry, a time to laugh— A time for mourning and a time for dancing— A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones— A time to embrace and a time not to embrace— A time to seek and a time to count as lost— A time to keep and a time to throw away— A time to tear, a time to sew— A time for silence and a time for talking— A time to love and a time to hate— A time for war and a time for peace Foreword We have chosen as the theme of the 1971 Sojourn An Appointed Time, in order to express the many varied experiences we, as a class, have shared at Norton High School. We have lived through many of these times, times of war — peace — love — hate. We advance toward the future with the hope that we will face courageously and with great anticipation the times that make living with each other worthwhile and rewarding.
I r 9 ! Dedication We have dedicated the 1971 Sojourn to Miss Diana Berberian and Mr. Joseph Solmonese. They have, through their devotion and patience, made a lasting impression in our lives and minds. To Miss Berberian and Mr. Solmonese, we express our sincere gratitude for their time and effort which they so generously gave in helping to plan and advise our many class projects, especially the prom and Spaghetti Supper. Also, we will never forget their math classes, both enjoyable and profitable. Through their guidance and congenial natures, we have come to respect and ad- mire them immensely. We regard them not only as teachers, but also as genuine friends. During the future, we will look back upon the many lessons they taught us with love and understanding. i
