FOREWORD What is the process of gaining a high school education? It is a journey, a sojourn which either marks the end of our acquiring of scholarly material, or a sojourn which will lead us to institu- tions of higher learning. With this thought in mind, we, the editors of the 1962 SO- JOURN, have chosen as our theme A Journey Through Norton High School. We have, through the use of pictures, recalled the most memorable scenes of school life to mind — things that we took for granted, and yet, we would be inclined to forget; things that contributed in a small way to the molding of our lives; and things that distinguished us as individuals. In the future, when we might wish to review the past, and thumb through its pages, we sincerely hope that this book will remind the reader of the enjoyable years spent at Norton High School, of a period of profitable training, and of the Senior Class of 1962.
