CHORUS One of the most outstanding features of Norton High is its chorus. Our school can be very proud of Mr. Yockey and all the chorus members. When they went to dis- trict contests, several individual members and the entire chorus brought honors home. We have the privilege of hearing the chorus sing at the Thanksgiving, Christ- mas, and Easter assemblies. During these assemblies the chorus is truly awe-inspiring. This year the chorus gave two concerts. One was a combined band and chorus con- cert. The other was a concert featuring junior High and High School Choruses. The highlight of the concert was when our chorus sang the Hallelujah Chorus. Our Chorus is truly the pride of Norton High. Mr. Arden j. Yockey deserves a great deal of credit for making our chorus as fine as it is. He sincerely enjoys music and de votes the majority of his time to it. He be gan his music career at Norton seventeen years ago. At that time and until 1953 he was in charge of all the instrumental sec tions. From 1953 until this year he was in charge of both the instrumental and vocal music sections at Norton. This year he was relieved of some of the work and now is the director of the junior High and High School choruses.
