hustorq seniors have much to look forward to graduation co lege t at first blg pay day careers marrla e but seniors have much to look back upon enever members of the class m 1D futu y ars they w11l find much to remember ey will recall that diff1cult l1fe of first grade was made even more dlfflcultfor Frances Lipovac and Mary Ann obreza by the mud of Sherman s p1aygr0und Wh1Ch swallowed thelr shoes a d for Bob Ries by a muscular teacher W 0 daily used the seat of his pants as a sound1ng board They ll remem r that Bill Dallas was hep cat of the second grade rhythm band and that Wayne Pressler was pretty rusty as a t1n soldier in the third grade play John Haynes won t forget Sally Morrison s hysterics as the result of his cap shooting on the bus and 1ts drastic conse quences Other memorable occurrences were the Girl Scout dance 1 Ah sweet innocence rs Koc er s drama c essons an rs Porr s marriage She probably will long remember the can roll thrown by her 7th grade darlings ck Ely will remember the L norton football game in the 6th grade in which he caught the sweetest pass n his athletic career orashlng to the mud with his arms encircl n the ball and a very surprlsed Martha HUtCh1DSOH The class will remem ber that they almost lost Bill saenger as an eighth grader to a Clinton cheerleader who seeing him in a basketball uniform screamed Dat 79 Panther Cubs burst the seams of Norton s hallowed halls of learning Norton surv1ved the shock but only 59 of the cubs stayed long enough to grow into full sized roaring Panthers Wayne Pressler Gene Moran B111 Saenger and pat Swaino were elected president v p treasurer and secretary of the freshman class Wayne and Pat served four years l three and Gene,two in their respective offices Many class meetings were devoted to improving the social graces of the new fresh men Bonnie Barnes made a charming little addition to the Homecoming Court They w1ll remember that as sophomores they started worrying about money especially about how t get it They sold Christmas cards enthus1astically at first but parting somewhat reluctantly with their last five boxes two years later This was the year of the dxsappearing decorations and the appointment of Norma Sturm as the one girl invest igatlng committee It too was the year when Darlene Good and Sa y Morrison bumped heads and left a trail of blood from the stadium to the showers Martha Hutchinson was elected attendant to the Home coming Queen and Bob Cunningham became vice president of the class ey will remember their JUHIOF year ro e pa ers an penc s ey sold e rs a un er m ce o 0 t e day the bo ushered and girls carried arches for commencement They ll remember 1198 h0t gs o nights when ducks would have drow d in ra mistaking the salt for sugar and wondering whv football fans wouldn t drink coffee the lines of eager buyers running through the snow to the refreshment stand at noon to buy the ice cream sold by juniors They will remember most of all The Prom from the first bitter battles over the establishment of prom rules through the weeks f M O 1 : . 1 . h ' - . .
