The top academic awards lor the 1970-71 graduation classes went to Richard H. Smeltzer, valedictorian, and Robert L.. Wheat. lll, Mt. Prospect, ill.: salutatorian, ol the tour-year business management baccalaureate program. Smeltzer, oi Port Huron, compiled a 3.68 average and Wheat was close behind with a 3.56 average, on the tour-point scale. Linda Belin, ol Cleveland, Ohio, was named valedictorian ol the two-year Associates Degree program, with an average ol 3.83. Tied for salutatorian honors are Holly Boadway, oi Rochester, and Adeline Wicker, of 7068 S. Three Mile Road, Bay City. Misses Belin and Wicker were majors ln secretarial science, while Miss Boadway was an advertising major. The Outstanding Faculty Award went to Mrs. Catherine S. Nelson, director of student activities, of 601 Crescent Drive, Mt. Pleasant. Other awards and winners were: Student Senate Activities Award, Terrence E. He paid tribute to Dr. Theodore Vosburgh, chairman of the Liberal Arts Division and the Depart- ment ol Music, who is retiring at the end of this academic year.
