Northwood's first track team competed on a limited basis, using the new composition trackjust for practice. TRACK SCORES Grand Rapids JC, 95, Macomb CC, 56: Northwood, 21: Delta, 16. Ohio Northern Relays, Northwood 6th of 8 teams. Taylor, l04Wg North- wood, 401 Hillsdale, l6V2. Spring Arbor, 92: Grand Valley, 33: Aquinas, 89, Northwood, 43. Hillsdale Relays, Northwood 5th of 11 teams. New S 2 N er N Coach Eric Pantzer, Rod Rider, Dennis Aguiar, Angelo Chico Aguiar, Joe Spera, Ed Perez, and Ron Russell. The school's first cross country squad competed in nine meets in the fall of 1969, although Chico Aguiar finished second in the Michigan Collegiate Conference meet the previous year in the first competition in that sport. Coach Pantzer laid out a cross-country course around the campus for practice. Other team members were Dave Lehman, Jerry Chapin and Pete Dippong. Hoxie, famed tennis instructor and Northwood coach since 1968. Mrs. Hoxie was one of the world's best-known figures in the game of tennis and her legacy to North- wood is one of excellence in the sport. Her name will live on the Northwood campus because of the Hoxie Tennis House and Hoxie Tennis Center and also the Hoxie Tennis House summer pro- gram now conducted here.
