DEDICATIO Mr Lyle Bestul has proved to be a versatlle coach a re hable leader an all round sports enthuslast and a competent teacher After ten years of coachmg var1ous sports here Lyle and h1s hard worklng teams have won many v1ctor1es for NHS The t1tles h1s teams have won 1nc1ude belng county champ 1ons 1n baseball 1n 1953 and 1957 and sect1onal w1nners 1950 1955 1956 and 1957 In h1s s1x years as head coach h1s basketball teams have been county champxons 1n 1956 sect1onal champ1ons 1D 1957 and conference champs 1956 and 1958 Whlle Mr Bestul attended h1gh school 111 Kenyon Mmne basketball and baseball teams After h1s st1nt 1n the Navy Mr Bestul marr1ed the g1rl of h1s dreams ' 1n 1947 and they moved to Northwood where began h1s teach1ng career as a h1story and soc1al sc1ence 1n structor He began h1s second year at Northwood as ass1stant coach and contmued w1th h1s h1story classes S1nce then Lyle has played an act1ve part 1n church and cornmumty l1fe 1n Northwood He IS a member of the F1rst Luthern Church and has served as Luther League Counselor and as Sunday School teacher The Bestuls bu1lt a new home xn 1951 where Mr and Mrs Bestul l1ve w1th the1r two cluldren Brlan 7 and Becky 4 Durlng the summer Lyle does carpenter work and last sum mer also helped out as sw1tchman for the ra1lroad For these and many other reasons we the graduatlng class of 1958 Wlth deepest grat1tude ded1cate th1s yearbook to Mr Lyle Bestul coach and teacher at Northwood H1gh School 4 1 . , - . . . . . , . - sota, his favorite sport fwas football, but he also played on the Q 1 .
