Six new members earned major letters in athletics and were initiated at a November meeting. December llth a Pancake Supper was served to the community. Funds and supplies were donated by merchants and the work was done by the mem- bers and their mothers. The highlight of the current year was February 28th when a bus was chartered to Minneapolis for the Iowa-Minnesota basketball game. Evidence of the club's activity and work was shown in the purchase of jackets for the football cheerleaders and five warmup coats for 'the team. The N Club gives to one of its members The Athlete of the Year Award, which is based on the number cf activities the person has been in, his citizenship, and his scholarship rating. Another award which can be received is membership in the National Athletic Scholarship Society. To receive this, a member has to be equal to or above the school's average in scholastics for three consecu- tive semesters, The Northwood Anchor Page 40 Cheerleaders The NHS cheerleadmv squad has done It agam Same coach better team more pep new steam C Vold D Halland M Bakketun D Flatness X X H ,.
