No. 1 Ranked Kentucky State Plays NI Kentuc ky State University was 1972's na- tional champion in small college basketball competition. Their captain was Travis Grant, one of the most outstanding college basket- ball players in the nation. He scored 37 points against the Blue Devils and led his team to a 15 point victory. But we were not ashamed because our team gave Kentucky State a tough fight. Above: Kevin Snow dribbles the ball down the court, setting up the next play. Left: Larry Weber stretches for a tip-in while being guarded by Kentucky State’s Sam Yietcher. 67
