Queens , Courts , and Crowns add sparkle With each climactic announcement, the tense expectations became realities for three North- wood queens. Football Homecoming in October saw the addition of floats as the queer candidates and court arrived in their con¬ vertible. Following the introduction of each girl, Tammy Sheets was honored as this year's Homecoming queen. As Valentine's Day approached, Basketball Sweetheart festivi¬ ties were planned. Girls holding palm branches and the reading of a poem added to the half-time basketball ceremony when Jenny France became sweetheart. Competition for Junior Miss took place earlier in the year and saw several seniors competing for the title. Michele Miller was crowned Junior Miss and later traveled to the state com¬ petition. Each ceremony added its own color and mood, which will long be remembered by many. ABOVE RIGHT: Tammy Sheets reigns as 1971 Home¬ coming Queen.
